The UK Entrepreneur Program was created by the UK Government on 30th June 2008 to attract Entrepreneurs and their families to immigrate by making a substantial investment in a new business or by buying an existing British business in the UK with a minimum investment of UK ₤200,000. The scheme is designed to bring people to the country who can invest their capital and business acumen in the economy.

The entrepreneur programme for business immigration is a potential route to permanent settlement in the United Kingdom and accordingly spouse immigration and dependent immigration are provided for under its requirements.Entrepreneurs after satisfying certain conditions are eligible to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), which is the equivalent to Permanent Residence and then Citizenship. This program Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) is for non-European migrants who want to invest in the UK by setting up or taking over, and being actively involved in the running of, a business or businesses here.


Entrepreneurs must demonstrate the following:

The business immigration service requires the applicant to invest at least 200,000 in creating a new United Kingdom based business.

Applicant’s submitting applications for entrepreneur visas must also satisfy the following criteria:

  • Investment of at least 200,000 in a new UK business
  • The business must create full time employment for at least two EEA nationals

The below summarized process is based on the requirements that need to be followed for a visa application of a foreign entrepreneur in the UK. The procedure can be broken down into nine basic steps that the main applicant will have to go through. Some of them require his/her involvement, while others are performed by Carte Blanche Immigration Services or the UK financial institution on the grounds of the power of attorney/s given by the main applicant. All of the steps are dependent on the successful completion of the previous step. Procedure times are estimated by combining current timelines of local government institutions as well as the actual process our clients have experienced.

MONTH 1-2 STEP 1 Client presents documents proving liquid assets
of minimum 200,000 and asked to pay application fee;
STEP 2 Carte Blanche Immigration Services prepares Business Plan
as per the clients requirements and in association with UK auditors;
MONTH 2-3 STEP 3 Once the application forms and business plan is ready,
the application is submitted at the British Embassy in the clients
current country of residence or citizenship;
STEP 4 Upon approval of the application, the applicant is granted
3 years and 4 months multiple entry work permit visa;
STEP 5 Upon landing in the UK applicant must Investment 200,000 in
a new business or buy an existing British Business.
